Bio
Jeff Harris
Rick is an amazing technical professional. During our time at OSHA Rick managed the day to day operations of the agencies security infrastructure (3000+ users & 137 sites) with exceptional results. In an environement of aging hardware and applications he was able to balance the nature of the agency with the needed security requirements to remain well postured with the parent agency and other federal organizations. Rick is an authority on security best-practices and has demonstrated his leadership and commitment to his trade by constantly expanding his knowledge and skillset. He is a technical mentor to many and a great public resource. It was a pleasure to both work with and manage Rick. He is an asset of immense value to any organization and will continue to contribute at the highest levels of the IT industry.

Rick is an exceptional technical leader, team builder, and mentor. We brought Rick on a few months before our government contract with OSHA was to expire. We were in a firestorm of conflicting stakeholders, delayed projects, and a revolving door of schedule and priority change; particularly with security initiatives. Rick quickly got us on track and the client extended the contract for another 18 months due largely to his efforts. He has deep knowledge of infrastructure security, architecture, Unix/Windows administration, LAN/WAN/SAN management, and networking. Rick oversaw all security related projects and firewall management with input into all other aspects OSHA’s infrastructure. He is well liked and respected by his supervisor and his peers. His work, use of protocol and process, and documentation are always the highest caliber. He communicates extremely well at all levels and has the ability to convey technical information in a way that senior management can understand. Rick was also instrumental in assisting with proposals and presentations for the CIO resulting in the award of 11M for infrastructure upgrade.
