In this role, I was initially hired as Senior Operations Engineer and promoted to Operations Manager in March 2019. I reported directly to the CEO, supervising teams for production, drilling, completions, pipeline, and facility projects. In 2021, I was released due to company cost-cutting measures. ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬IMPACTS & ACHIEVEMENTS► Supervised waterflood management and pipeline integrity programs. ► Coordinated product sales volumes with third-party marketers for corporate commodity sales. ► Guided Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) corporate compliance with all Alberta Energy Regulator (AER) regulations and reporting requirements for production operations field activities. ► Spearheaded a corporate TIER program and signed off on monthly Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) carbon tax fuel charges for provincial / federal methane and fugitive emissions programs. ► Aligned operational RFQs, cost estimates, AFEs, and cost approvals with established budgets. ► Offered technical due diligence, operations, production, and infrastructure support for A&D evaluations. ► Oversaw designs for all aspects of rod pump, ESP, and plunger lift wells. ► Spearheaded all pipeline leak failure analysis / engineering integrity reports and AER regulatory communication.► Initiated a pipeline gathering system maintenance review program. ► Improved all parkland water injection wells using acid jobs and modified a chemical program. ► Constructed a new water injection facility and oil battery upgrades (new oil treater / oil & water storage tanks). ► Reduced source well downtimes by installing incinerator stack extensions. ► Supervised new water injection, water source, and oil well pipelines.► Mitigated NPT and inefficiencies by monitoring daily production, well performance, and well testing. ► Maintained optimal efficiency by reviewing chemical program reports. ► Spearheaded compliance with corporate ABSA programs as well as an ABSA audit Q1 2017.

Directed 10 field staff of foreman and operators. Project coordinated construction of two new oil batteries with 25% schedule overlap (Swan Hills 12,000 bbl/d & Virginia Hills 6,000 bbl/d capacities). Released due to Coral Hill’s acquisition by Crescent Point Energy in August 2015. ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬IMPACTS & ACHIEVEMENTS► Coordinated production on carbonate flow back wells over 2,000 bopd/well.► Exceeded budgeted production by monitoring variances based on weekly production reports. ► Forecasted monthly and corporate production using ValNav while optimizing chemical programs.

Breaker Energy was acquired by NAL Resources in 2009.▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬IMPACTS & ACHIEVEMENTS► Modified oil batteries to improve water handling capability.► Boosted overall battery efficiency and saved $25K for injector clean-outs by implementing a skim system in the water inlet tanks to siphon off oil and allow clean water to carry through to injectors. ► Conducted “Smart Pigging” on sour gas pipelines in the Irricana field. ► Sourced and submitted a contract bid to conduct integrity evaluations for sour gas pipelines, resulting in the discovery of significant corrosion loss and the need for subsequent repair.► Recovered $50K by identifying discrepancies in annual production test data, metering issues, and production accounting entries.

I was recruited by a former Devon colleague to join Compton as an Exploitation Engineer. In this role, I stewarded a $40MM capital budget, working jointly with team members for input. This included a base budget evaluation of 165+ wells (90+ operated) and covered all aspects of production analysis, reserve updates, recovery factors, and operational costs review. I also managed new capital budget expenditures for all facets post-drill. I left Compton to join a junior startup - Tristar Oil and Gas Ltd.▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬IMPACTS & ACHIEVEMENTS► Increased production by 250% for 2003 / 2004 and 144% for 2004 / 2005.► Guided annual reserve evaluations with Netherland Sewell, including decline analysis, liquid recoveries, and operational costs. ► Boosted area reserves by +70% for 2003 / 2004 and +62% for 2004 / 2005.► Evaluated potential acquisition candidates within areas of responsibility ($200K to $40MM).► Improved load recovery of new wells with input on completion methods (frac programs).► Turned small property acquisition (Niton) into the core property with new drills and optimizations.► Recommended fracture stimulation to convert a 320 bbl/d oil well producer to 580 bbl/d.► Secured executive approval for the acquisition of Redwood Energy Ltd., resulting in a $40MM bid for the property.► Initiated two gas plant expansions at Niton facility, 5 to 10 MMcf/d and then 10 to 20 MMcf/d.► Managed a project for a 20% H2S oil well drill in the Pembina area.► Spearheaded three field compressor site projects capable of 25+MMcf/d.

I was approached by a former Concise colleague to join Devon, which was on the producing side of the upstream industry and different from EPC work. In this role, I managed project teams, including 6 inspectors and contractors as well as equipment and scheduling. I was approached by Avid shortly after completing my SAIT Petroleum Tech course to learn production engineering. Avid was acquired by Husky just two weeks into my new role.▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬IMPACTS & ACHIEVEMENTS► Executed facility and pipeline projects, including the installation of sweet and sour spec pipelines, separators, line heaters, inlet separation, compressors, modifications to oil batteries, and natural gas plants.► Prepared cost estimates, AFE’s, and cost control reports for projects, including review of Process and P&ID drawing packages for regulatory approvals. ► Oversaw winter-only projects in the Wabaska region, including the tie-in of 50 to 60 wells and multiple booster compressor / compressor station installs.► Installed a refrigeration package at a facility and pipeline bore under the Lesser Slave River and a railroad line simultaneously despite significant elevation difference.
