I have served afloat on all of the classes of vessel in the naval Service in various appointments and ranks completing 5 postings along with serving 2 deployments with the United Nations in UNIFIL South Lebanon and a further deployment in UNTAET East Timor.   Throughout this deployment I was directly responsible for the maintenance and installation of all communications in theater and for all satellite and RF communications to outside of theater and Ireland. This mission included a change of location for the Head Quarters of the Irish Battalion, in turn an installation of a fully functioning and operational communications center while maintaining a fully functioning inter Battalion communications structure.
