    • Technical Architect
      • Mar 1999 - Mar 2002

Offered a position with SBMS as a Technical Architect. Involved in 100% defect free conversion of Macrocell markets from legacy mainframe to Telegence, the new company wide client server based billing system. With input from QA team, development team, markets, audit and management; tasked with developing an in house SDLC tool we called MOE (Model Office Environment). This was in addition to the tool we had developed for change management. Our success was in quantifying post production defects and on time delivery, which became almost non-existent with the use of MOE. Teamed up with technical architects from other systems in designing the integration of best practices between disparate groups in the company, as the business moved forward. During this time SBMS was reinvented and chose the name Cingular Wireless. The next 10 years would prove to be quite challenging as the mobile business grew at an exponential rate and became the “cash cow” for SBC. Tools/Environment: Mainframe MVS, FileAid, GDG, Windows, MS Office Languages: COBOL, JCL

Production Support MacroCell, an SBMS (Southwestern Bell Mobile Systems) MVS Mainframe Billing System for the Chicago, Washington, D.C. and New York markets until it was to be converted to a client server based in house billing system in six months. It was used for an additional 4 years. Offered 2 positions, one was low key, basic; the other was in the fast moving cellular phone arena for a billing system that was out of control and offered a challenge. I chose the latter.  Served as member of billing and invoicing team that developed an in house tool for change management. This resulted in an increase of about 80% production issue resolution, from 60% clean to 99+ % clean. This tool was used by QA team, tool developer, enhancement developers, audit, market team and production support.  Y2K Project- Worked with developers and QA to address the Y2K requirements and testing.  Created change management templates for different teams to use in enhancement life cycle.  Created documentation of system flow and all programs which at the time did not exist.  Tools/Environment: Mainframe MVS, FileAid, GDG, Windows, MS Office  Languages: COBOL, JCL
