Richard is a very dedicated retail professional. He has vast experience from working in the UK Retail spectrum as well as valuable knowledge of European Retail operations from regular visits to Helly Hansen's brand stores in France and Hungary. Richards coaching skills are especially impressive and he has a good reputation within Helly Hansen for bringing out the best qualities in new employees as well as a good knack of motivating longer serving members of staff. His management techniques and skills are well honed and Richard would be an asset to any retail operation big or small. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you would like more information.

Having known Richard for a few years, I firmly believe he has performed his role as Manager of our Prime UK Flagship Store in an efficient and very professional manner. Richard is excellent with customers and staff, always ranked top following independent testing of Customer Service across the global retail group. He understands processes and numbers, and knows how to work stock and merchandise. Whilst Richard is capable of leading, he can also be humble enough to listen to new ideas from others. On occasions when the retail trade dips, Richard always comes up with initiatives to try and drive traffic and turnover. I would highly recommend him to anyone who should be considering employing Richard for a role which requires these attributes.

I have recently been promoted to the role of showroom manager for the Newtownabbey branch after establishing myself as the senior salesman over the previous 6 years. Now with an interest in building and being part of the Charles Hurst Toyota management team that runs the 3 branches in northern Ireland striving for what I see to be the best commercial car brand Toyota. For over 20 years, I’ve been listening to customers to provide them with a top level of service and ensure that my colleagues around me do the same. I am now also in a position to look at the business in a more overall capacity and using those skills gained in my career to ensure that our customers are always our number one priority ensuring that our business gains a relationship that is worthy of customers for lifeWhen I’m not on the job, I love hiking & walking, the odd 5-10 k jog helping to maintain a status quo as I am also working my way through every recipe I find either online or when we are out, and indulging my love for seeing new places to see and venues to enjoy a meal at.

Helping to open and develop the first Helly Hansen brand store for the UK,in October 2009. I take a lot pride in my work for Helly Hansen and am especially proud of the store that I worked in and the team that I have developed in Manchester. The Manchester store consistently achieved the highest mystery shopper reports in Europe. The store also made increases year on year during difficult trading times. Helping re establish Helly Hansen in the UK as a technical outdoors brand whilst also introducing the higher fashion side of the business to UK consumers.

Consistently demonstrating a high level of customer service skills and an excellent ability to communicate. Taking over as the manager of Woodies Emporium was a great responsibility as the store had a recognised history of a high level of service, presentation of new and established brands and leading the way for independent fashion retailers. Working in Woodies Emporium required effective time and resource management as the store was amongst one of the UK’s most highly respected independents and busiest in South Wales and the South West.

Originally employed to manage the store collaboratively developed by Woodies Emporium and Rockport. During my tenure as manager, the store beat all targets and developed a respectable customer base of its own and was a great success. My achievements at the Rockport store directly influenced my promotion to store manger of Woodies Emporium. I was then involved in all aspects of maintaining a busy high fashion store, including involvement with the buying team and development of a transactional website.Consistently demonstrating a high level of customer service skills and an excellent ability to communicate. Initially employed as the assistant manager in the Bicester outlet, I was promoted to develop, open and manage the new branch in Bridgend. My role included all aspects of running a very busy store. I enjoyed the responsibility of running the outlet and especially liked to see well-laid plans and promotions work effectively. On arrival to the Bridgend branch, the prospective unit was unfurnished and unstaffed. The responsibility for organising the launch of the branch was split equally between myself and the UK operations manager. My tasks included advertising and interviewing for all staff, getting the branch opened on time and within budget is one of my proudest achievements to date. After the launch the branch featured regularly in the top 10 traders for the centre taking over £1 million in its first year.
