Following a merge of FP&A/Financial Accounting, I have moved into a new role that owns and coordinates the organisations financial planning process (Budget, Forecast, Business Plan for P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash, Reserves). Responsibility of the financial systems (SAP BPC, Open Accounts), and also traditional day to day financial controller duties of Support Function areas including Marketing, HR, Finance, Property, and I.T. Close working with Directors and Heads of departments in both operational and strategic planning, including development and implementation of a new strategic planning process. On a regular basis I present to senior finance and non finance stakeholders (Directors) Provide commercial and financial support across the organisation where required and, continually seeking to drive progress in the finance ways of working and tools available for the wider finance team to do our jobs more effectively. Most notably this includes continued development of SAP BPC capabilities, and now moving onto Power BI toolset. Close working with the Marketing area given me new skills/experience, with now a more developed understanding of Branding, PR, Data / Insight, CRM, Digital marketing. Provided the financial expertise when preparing business cases for major campaigns / activity and development of KPIs. Show less

Responsible for financial planning, accounting, reporting, and commercial support / modelling for Veterinary sector of the Charity. This represented c.£60m of expenditure as well as over £15m of donated and sales income across a multi site estate. Included management of small team. Close working with the senior veterinary management team that extended support to key veterinary performance statistics / KPIs, process design and implementation, staffing & capacity, cascade and communication of results / targets / plans. A very enjoyable role that allowed me to develop many skills, including dealing with multi site operations, senior stakeholder relationships, developing meaningful MI from huge quantities of complex data, propose and implement process improvement, and offered the chance to influence and contribute on any financial related topics as part of the veterinary management.
