I first worked closely with Richard when I was asked to mentor him following his transition into a client facing Sales role. It was instantly apparent that Richard had the hunger and determination required to make a success of his role. Through careful objective setting and his constant over achievement Richard flourished very quickly into not only someone who was able to do his job well, but someone who was over achieving target at our first time of asking. Richard continued that determination and followed this with endless toil to ensure he went from little experience to being a key and valued member of the Sage Account management function. Richard surpassed his medium and long term goals way ahead of the already ambitious schedule set and followed his first year’s performance with yet another huge over achievement. Throughout everything Richard still had the time to support his colleagues and was instrumental in securing a great deal of additional revenue for the business and supported many of our customers to ensure they were getting the best from us as a software vendor. Richard recently made a move to an alternative business who I personally believe are an exciting and innovative employer moving at the same fast pace as Richard is within his career. I would not be surprised to see Richard continue to grow quickly and progress at Concur. One thing is for sure if Richard continues to work to the same high standard as I have always seen he will go far there, or in any other business...I'd expect nothing less, he learnt from the best!
