Evaluate shipbuilder Contract Data Requirements List (CDRL) submissions to ensure data accuracy and compliance with the terms and conditions of the contract. Test Witnessing: LHA-6 Test Team. Attend shipboard test calls to witness contractor conduct of test procedures for various ship systems (JP-5, secondary drainage, Photometrics, etc.). Prepare and submit test reports to include supporting data for each test procedure conducted. Analyze test results and raw data collected during testing to assure end product provides acceptable levels of quality and performance meets contract requirements. Coordinate the accomplishment of authorized new or modified work by the contractor with regard to the completion of ECN’s (Engineering Change Notices) and follow-up inspection of various parts of the ship affected by same. This work is performed throughout various milestone stages. Responsible for documenting and taking photographic evidence of ECN discrepancies found, and inputting all relevant data into a personally-developed spreadsheet that is in turn used to populateTSM data; also for documenting and inputting any and all C&P issues found to same. Coordinate, monitor, and expedite the efforts of the SUPSHIP office and its supporting NAVSEA activities by reporting directly to a Navy Commander with SUPSHIP to help ensure timely delivery. The work performed for Alion Science and Technology saves valuable time and capital for the Navy with regard to the current DDG113 project, and well into future DDG hulls. Inspection of the different blocks/grand blocks, modules and compartments of the ship before “Shipshape” allows the discrepancies found to be resolved and fixed before blast/paint, insulation and other steps are completed, saving countless production hours and capital spent on production/re-work, resulting in fewer Corrective Action Reports and Trial Cards for the NAVY.
