Scheduling Specialist

juil. 2019 - - aujourd’hui
I have been working with the initial start-up teams focusing on reactor fueling and power ascension testing (PAT) since 2019. My role is to build and maintain level 4 schedules with input from the operation and maintenance teams incorporating all test procedures and surveillances to enable us to reach mode 6 and commence fuel load. Following this working with the PAT teams which focused on reactor assembly, test plateaus, initial criticality and then raising the reactor power through stages to 100% before becoming operational. My main role is to establish and maintain critical and sub-critical paths which can be monitored and reported to managers and major stakeholders. Other elements of my role are adding emergent and repair work to the schedule that may emerge from discovery as the teams perform surveillance and performance testing. This is then linked into the critical path looking for potential pushes. I am currently working on unit 3 after successfully working on units 1&2 which are now operational.Working in the Fuel Load and PAT Control Centre is essentially like working in an outage environment. Dealing with emergent work and daily scope changes, which involves many scheduling changes and subsequent reviews. Having to work in the live schedule requires the scheduler to have a good understanding of processes and procedures while working under pressure in a very dynamic environment. The position requires good plant and nuclear knowledge to work directly with all the disciplines to ensure that all scope is correctly scheduled and in-line with recourse and plant availability.Current role includes:• Managing critical path movement, reporting to major stakeholders and focus teams.• Advising the FL & PAT leads on critical & sub-critical activities with possible interventions.• Working with the operations teams to ensure all system line-up, ST, PT are scheduled in a timely manner to support Mode changes with support from I&C and Electrical teams.

Senior Project Control Engineer

Dry Fuel Store Project. The principal objective of the project was to successfully transfer and load Seven HI-STORM cask with spent fuel assemblies into the DFS Facility at SZB. The benefit of this project is to facilitate the release of further storage capacity in the reactor fuel building ponds to enable continued generation of the station. This then allowed continued operation until 2035. My role was to build level 3 cost loaded programs using Primavera P6 to facilitate the loading ensuring that all the correct processes and procedures had been captured in the programs.
