Project duration: April 2011 – December 2011 Perth City Link Stage One was the first works of the sinking of the rail project for connecting Northbridge with the city. The scope of the works were service relocation and installation of high pressure water, high pressure gas, electricity, sewer and stormwater, paving and re routing the bus line to allow works to continue, underground sewer bore under the existing rail system, all paving and finishing’s. Richard’s involvement as a project engineer involved client progress reporting, local government interface management, tendering, sub contractor procurement and management, site safety management and reporting, budget control and progress reporting to the project manager. Due to the location of this project it required multiple design changes, construction management with an additional interface with the general public in the heart of Perth. The location and nature of the project required rapid problem solving and re design of constructability for sub contractors, which Richard was responsible for.
