    • Program Director for Charles River Implementation
      • Oct 2011 - Feb 2014

      • Initial role was the Business Programme Director for Investment Services for the implementation of Charles River and associated supporting technologies, which established a global operating framework for the Fixed Income implementation. • Following the success of the Fixed Income implementation, I was asked to lead the Global Equity trading implementation covering all components of Charles River delivery from Order Management, Compliance, Equity trading and Charles River Post trade integration with CTM. • The implementation was successfully delivered in a multi-phase delivery, which ultimately allowed Fidelity International to migrate off their legacy AS400 based dealing platforms. • My role varied from managing the team of business analysts and vendor personnel in multiple locations, to coordinating offshore technical teams, detailed workflow designs through to key stakeholder risk and issues resolution, and ultimately through to the successful delivery. • Global Project Manager for the implementation of Charles River (CRD) in the UK, Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore, Germany, Canada and Brazil. • The phases of the project included completing the RFP process for both CRD and a data management solution, followed by extensive vendor contract negotiations, as well as internal contractual arrangements between various business units. • The implementation was broken down into various delivery components, with the initial phases focusing on the data integration platform and CRD compliance in the UK and HK, and a trading phase in Germany. • Subsequent phases focused on trading activities in UK and HK, plus initiating projects for additional offices, including Brazil and Canada. • Due to the nature of HSBC, the project has involved managing an extensive number of people in off shore resource centres which has added an additional complexity to the implementation. • The Front Office program is part of an overall Global Change Program, with my role having to manage the integration between other projects. • The CADIS implementation involved extensive data testing of both internally and externally (predominantly Bloomberg) sourced data, and involved the creation of 24 x 7 data support model. • May 2007 - May 2008

      • Implementation Manager for a Global roll out of Charles River (CRD) in Henley, London, Melbourne, Frankfurt and Hong Kong. • The implementation included all three key CRD components of modelling, compliance and trading. The trading implementation including the migration to a new FIX network, including post trade allocations in Asia. • The first phase of the implementation, which included a new enterprise data management product called CADIS to supply all the CRD static, positional and index date and a migration from the existing order management system (MFTP) was delivered into three sites (Melbourne, Hong Kong and Henley) simultaneously on time and to requirements. • The modelling and compliance components of the CRD implementation were the most challenging as these involved extensive re-engineering of roles and responsibilities. • The CADIS implementation involved extensive data testing of both internally and externally (predominantly Bloomberg) sourced data, and involved the creation of 24 x 7 data support model. • IT Project Manager for UK based Fixed Income Credit Manager which manages up to $10bn. • Managed the successful upgrade to Charles River version 8 and maintained ownership of the system, including defining and building all business workflows within Charles River. BlueBay’s implementation of Charles River uses all components of application, including compliance, order management and portfolio modelling. BlueBay have also be responsible for driving the integration of derivative functionality into the core application and one of the few clients in the world using credit derivatives with Charles River. • Managed the implementation of SmartStream’s TLM Reconciliation and Corporate Actions system. BlueBay are the first UK based client to be live on Corporate Actions, stock and cash reconciliations across both the Hedge and Long Only funds. The implementation has led to significant cost savings within BlueBay and has positioned the organisation with a strategic packaged solution that manages the reconciliation process with both custodian banks and third party administrators via SWIFT. The project was delivered on time and budget. • Managed the implementation of Statpro Performance & Attribution. The complexities of the implementation included building the interface between Invest One and Statpro, with the business logic interface being transformed by a BizTalk messaging layer. The product mix, which includes extensive use of all derivatives, including CDS, was challenging both the accounting system and interface with Statpro. Show less
