I am the coordinator and program lead for two RADARS System drug surveillance programs, supervising a staff of four. The Web Monitoring Program monitors the online chatter about specific products and behavior associated with prescription drug abuse, misuse, and diversion. These data serve as an early detection system as well as a tool to provide context to emerging trends, user behavior, and product liking. The StreetRx Program captures the “black market” or “street price” of prescription drugs by employing crowd-sourcing principles. The street price of prescription drugs as well as illicit drugs is captured through a publicly-accessible website (www.StreetRx.com). The site allows for anonymous submission of street prices paid for specific prescription and illicit drugs. Show less
