Christy Cooper

I have worked with Rich for the past few years at Dow AgroSciences on transfection of canola, maize, and soybean protoplast rapid testing systems for trait development in these crops. I also worked with Rich to assay the transfected protoplasts for fluorescent reporter gene expression using automated high throughput flow cytometry of samples in 96 well plate format. What most impresses me about Rich are his dependability, consistency in maintaining more than ten different plant suspension cell cultures, and his willingness to do whatever it takes to help out on team projects. Rich taught me how to subculture tobacco suspension cultures at a time when I was experiencing difficulties with culture yields so that I could carry on part of our team project at my supervisor's lab at Purdue University. I would eagerly recommend Rich Olsen for a laboratory technician position at any biotech company that is looking for a dependable worker and team player to do any kind of cell or tissue culture research involving transfections using traditional or nanoparticle-mediated delivery methods and assays using automated equipment such as plate format flow cytometers.

Honesty, loyalty, and reliability are the qualities that Rich displayed while working for me. You could always depend on Rich to take care of our clients and provide excellent service.
