    • Student Church Leader
      • Sep 2016 - Jul 2018

I co-led a church of 120 university students and worked in a team of other church leaders all responsible for different areas of STC Sheffield. This provided an opportunity to develop my presentation skills, creative and innovative thinking, networking skills and it has required punctuality, adaptability and a willingness to take on responsibility. It has vastly improved my confidence in working alongside others, building team and leading others towards a set goal. This role has really helped me in how I understand people and how they work together in a team. Show less

For 5 weeks I worked along PhD students and Dr Mark Paines group researching several important enzymes in the mosquito which help them survive a blood meal. This involved work with the mosquitoes in the schools insectaries as well as learning many molecular biology techniques to express, extract and purify RNA, DNA and proteins from bacteria and mosquitoes. This increased my confidence in a laboratory environment as well as helping me to learn essential skills and techniques from professionals in the field. Show less
