Even though this company has changed hands over the years, the core business has remained the same. My role has evolved over this time as well. Worked on new product development teams. Initial functional testing of hardware and embedded firmware. Automated testing for long term functionality and reliability. Developed programs and fixtures to test AC/DC and DC/DC power supplies on Teradyne, Mixed equipment (Agilent, Kiethley, Chroma, National Instruments, etc.), and Rack-and-Stack systems using C, C++, NI CVI, TestStand, Visual Basic, and Pascal. Led a team of test engineers supporting on-site design, contract design, and multiple manufacturing locations for a power supply business with revenues in excess of 500 million dollars a year. Developed a custom PXI based rack and stack system capable of functionally testing 1500 power modules an hour which is approximately 10 times faster than the current methodology. Developed all specialized hardware including custom boards and wrote all software and drivers in LabWindows CVI. Deployed capital resources to meet the demands of global manufacturing. Directed product manufacturing facility transfers. On-site deployment of test facilities and software. Trained on-site personnel in various locations (US, Mexico, Taiwan, and China). Optimized test capacity equipment requirements by providing capacity analysis tools enabling manufacturing locations to understand the machine capabilities and their capacities. Reduced test process and throughput by 20%, thereby inducing a labor and capital savings. Supported 40% growth rate including outsourcing efforts and new equipment deployment. Provided shop support to existing programs and fixtures. Implemented fixture verification, hot test verification, cold test elimination, and dramatically reduced test times which resulted in substantial cost saving to the company. Worked with design and process engineers to improve yields. Show less
