It is my pleasure to write a recommendation for Richard Marnell a member of our Bearcats Marketing Academy with the University of Cincinnati Athletics Marketing Department. I worked closely with Mr. Marnell and observed his interaction with fellow students and members of the athletics staff both behind-the-scenes and on game-day at football, baseball, volleyball, soccer, and women's basketball. His ability to work effectively on multiple tasks, his attention to detail, the intensity of effort resulted in a number of significant milestones for the athletic marketing. In particular, Richard was instrumental in the launch of our campus tailgate initiative. The tailgate sold out for every home football game in 2015 and 2016 to date with a sponsored family fun zone, entertainment, contests, giveaways and food and beverage vendors. Richard was instrumental in creating a family-friendly environment and fulfilling sponsored elements durin our four hours of programming leading up to kick-off. Additionally, Richard helped reaching out to schools, coaches, clubs, teams, and groups across the tri-state area resulted in the Bearcats enjoying historic attendance jumps in multiple sports including volleyball (>26% increase from the previous three-year average), women's basketball (>30% from the previous three-year average), and baseball (>37% from the previous three-year average). From being responsible for organizing grid activities from set-up to tear-down, to cultivating relationships with area youth organizations and schools, to brainstorming concepts and engaging with fans, Richard was extremely enthusiastic about even the smallest tasks and that positive attitude was infectious to the rest of the team. Richard is strong leader with a proven team mentality and competitive fire who has displayed skilled communication and discipline. For these reasons, I can recommend Richard Marnell wholeheartedly.
