Dear Music Specialists, Have you ever had to sit through a Staff Professional Development Session that had absolutely no relevance to your specialty? Have I got a solution for you!! Richard Lawton! Our school district recently hired him for a staff development day for our 8 elementary general music instructors, and he energized our team with new ways to incorporate the Orff approach of learning music into our lessons. We brought our recorders, ukuleles, xylophones, and tubanos, and collaborated together to grow and expand our repertoire. He was culturally responsive and diverse in his approach, and was both down to earth and intellectually challenging.He also provided a complete powerpoint presentation chock full of songs and implementation strategies.
