  As Assistant Shipping Manager, I was responsible for ensuring the safe packing and transportation of various commodities by road, sea and air around the UK, Europe and worldwide. I was also responsible for selecting suppliers and the ordering of materials including negotiation of price and service. I dealt daily with shipping lines and freight forwarders ensuring that the correct services were allocated to each shipment in order to meet the high expectations of our clients whilst also maintaining healthy profit margins.As Estimator, I travelled the entire area of Scotland meeting with private and corporate clients in order to assess their packing and shipping requirements, preparing the relevant report to allow for accurate costings and maintaining contact with clients to ensure that service levels are met.
