Reporting to the Director of Operations as a part of the Executive team, the Production Manager oversees all daily operations of the plant ensuring policies and procedures are followed and helps to develop processes that will maximize safety, quality and productivity. Direct Reports: General Manufacturing Supervisor, Maintenance Supervisor & Shipping Supervisor Official Day to day • Coordinate all plant activities by working with Production Team (including scheduling and sales) and Departmental Managers to ensure that total manufacturing objectives are accomplished in a timely, cost effective and efficient manner using LEAN manufacturing processes. • Control and optimize labor overtime, premium freight and repair expenses. • Develop, plan, control, and implement the plant budget to maximize profits by utilizing Continuous Improvement initiatives. • Implement cost effective systems of control over operating expenditures, manpower, and participate in the managing of capital asset/improvement projects. • Establish and monitor overall plant performance for safety, production and quality standards, working closely with CI Manager, Quality Control, HR and Safety. Strategic • Implementing safety and preventative maintenance programs, incorporating and driving safety procedures and plant cleanliness as a priority through lean teachings (5S). • Incorporating shop floor organization with support from ACM, to ensure production processes are fluid, efficient, and effective. • Provide leadership and training to accomplish corporate goals/objectives/KPIs. • Provide direction, development and leadership to managerial personnel. • Participate in the hiring process and drive an effective training program to develop and appraise staff effectively. • Support teams, taking corrective actions as necessary and in a timely manner, in accordance with company policy. • Work with R&D in testing and implementing new materials and product lines.
