The role was to lead a diverse team of 10 KWL employees, which included senior management members and operational support staff through the Young Enterprise ‘who wants to be an entrepreneur’ competition. The competition involved raising money within the perimeters of three set tasks. Each task required the conception, planning and execution of a project. At the end of each task, I was required to present a report of the team’s activities and achievements to a judging panel. The report was delivered alongside other team leaders, within the Young Enterprise boardroom. After the presentation the team leaders where then required to evaluate their teams contribution to the task and overall performance, this was done through an intensive Q&A session. My performance in the boardroom, partnered with the team’s performance in the task determined our progression through the completion. Under my leadership, the team successfully made the competition final. Skills which have been developed through this process include; Presentation – planning and delivery, Sales and Marketing, Risk analysis and Decision Making, Organising, Delegating, Team strength and weakness evaluation, Persuasion, Goal setting, Project Planning and Delivery, Time management, Budget management, Creativity , Leadership and Motivation.
