Richard is a first-rate web developer and great team leader to a very productive digital team at Imagine. Always very approachable and happy to implement ad hoc systems for all departments. Personally he made my life easier by creating a fantastic banner generator and data capture landing page tool. He is an absolute pleasure to work with and an asset to any company.

Having worked with Rich while we were both at Fathom Communications I can highly recommend him as a web developer. We worked on several projects together, Rich had exemplary web development skills and was able to get all our projects done on time whilst also making good suggestions on how to improve certain aspects of each project along the way. Due to his strong technical ability I would have no hesitation in recommending him.

I work with a variety of teams including editorial, marketing, design and web development, all of which contribute to the growth of Electromaker.io. My goal is to create an online platform which becomes the go-to place for makers, hackers, and hardware hobbyists to share their projects with the online maker community. It's my job to ensure the content we publish on Electromaker is relevant, interesting and engaging, and the online platform we use to deliver our content is cutting-edge, user-friendly and enjoyable to use.

Imagine has a successful portfolio of magazines, bookazines, digital editions, websites and apps. My time within the digital department has been a rewarding and challenging experience which has allowed me to develop my skills and in turn, help develop the digital portfolio for Imagine. In the four and a half years I have worked with the company, I have been responsible for some of the key successes the digital department has experienced and played a major role in maintaining the success of the department. Primarily a backend PHP coder, my responsibilities here range from working on new web projects as well as maintaining existing websites. I am also responsible for the configuration and maintenance of our five LAMP stack servers which host a wide range of digital systems.

Fathom Creative is focused on building a brand identity for its clients by designing and building websites and also producing creative work for brochures, stationary and large-scale presentation stands etc. My role here was to work on a variety of various different websites which included e-commerce stores and CMS systems built using the CodeIgniter framework. It was a frontend and backend role meaning I was able to use a variety of different skills from HTML and Javascript to PHP and SQL. Some of the latest projects I have worked on from start to finish include www.coasttocoastadventures.com, www.arenagroup.com and www.360ces.com. More information on these projects is available on request.

Here I worked within a team of 6 developers within the loan brokerage part of the company. One of my main projects involved migrating away from the traditional call centre setup and transforming it into an online business. This involved developing a website which allows customers to perform a wide range of tasks, and also fully automating internal processes. One of the major parts of this project was to automate the way in which Loanfinder recommend lenders to its customers. This process was developed by myself in PHP and SQL, and worked by analysing customer data and matching the best lender to a customer. The customer could then login to our website to view the recommendation as well as perform a variety of tasks. I also played a major part in integrating key parts of functionality to the website.
