Oversee the daily operations of this 297 bed skilled nursing facility, including but not limited to ensuring quality care of residents, management and development of professional personnel, management of budget, monitoring and ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations in keeping with company requirements and standards, facilitation of varied committees and meetings, and acceptance of new identified projects as identified by the Regional Vice-President of Operations. This facility's history is that of a troubled facility with many years of ineffective management largely due to not holding employees accountable for their job in a difficult union environment. In the time that I have been here, we had the best annual survey in decades and I managed to fill and develop all management positions for the first time in many years. Additionally, for the first time, all staff are held accountable for the performance of their duties and the outcome has been enhanced resident care in a more controlled budgetary environment. Successfully navigated facility through a CIA Agreement with full compliance of all requirements. Achieved a three star CMS rating from what was essentially a zero star and through three provisional licenses. I maintain a very good relationship with the Pennsylvania Department of Health -Scranton Field Office. Transformed the facility from losing money to the most profitable facility in the region. Merged my customer service beliefs with an effective concierge program based atmosphere which eliminated complaints resulting in no substantiated complaint surveys. Over the last three years, we have not had any substantiated complaints. Show less

Responsible for directing, staffing, budgeting, reporting, operating and management of the facility in accordance with established policies. Enforce state and federal regulations and facility policies relative to the health and safety of all residents. Built, opened and established a financially viable short-term rehab unit with outstanding rehab/therapy outcomes. Maintained a strong average daily census and Q-mix through effective marketing and community relations. Developed and maintained written policies, procedures and professional standards of practice while achieving a 4 star rating and one calendar quarter away from a 5 star rating before the facility was sold. Ensured that all employees, residents, and vendors followed the facility's established policies and procedures. Prepared annual operating budget and managed operating costs resulting in substantial profits. Supervised and mentored department managers, creating an outstanding team. Ensured an outstanding quality of care for all residents, which made us the facility of choice for many generations of repeat customers. Represented the facility in dealings with outside agencies, including governmental agencies, referral sources and third-party payors. Trained and developed new NHA's to the company and assisted sister facilities through mentoring programs that I established. My vast knowledge of the survey process, and good relationship with the Scranton field office consistently produced good survey results. Knowledgeable in the Medicare, Medicaid, Bundled programs and RUG reimbursement processes. As the team leader I ensured that work was accomplished and quality care delivered while supporting team members and leading the way to our many successes. Show less
