My Extension programming primarily consists of facilitating the Alabama Professional Logging Manager (PLM) initial trainings along with organizing and presenting at continuing forestry education (CFE) workshops for loggers and foresters, but I also organize and present at landowner workshops and field events. My Extension programming focus area is around forest operations and includes timber harvesting methods/equipment, forestry best management practices (BMPs), Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI), unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs/drones), forest management, site preparation, biodiversity and many other topics. I teach Timber Harvesting, Forest Surveying, and Forest Business Statistics. I have also taught Silviculture, Urban Forestry, and Forest Operations and Manufacturing (Field class visiting loggers and sawmills). My research focus areas include forest operations, forestry BMPs, water quality, and UAVs. Show less
