I became the person responsible for audit and accounts technical matters on the management team. I led, and continue to lead, the technical meetings which are held with three of the firm’s directors to make decisions on firm policy and best practice before feeding back to the management and wider team. I oversaw the creation of a considerable bank of technical notes to address the significant changes in UK accounting standards and issues which that entailed, as well as standard wording to use in accounts. Part of my role was also to oversee the internal payroll testing procedures the firm has in place, having made changes to improve the process. I headed the research and then implementation of the complete change in regulatory reporting under new Solvency II rules.
