Client Manager
-
Jul 2017 - Present
I continue to manage a portfolio of clients with additional responsibilities including billing. My responsibilities for audit and accounts technical matters have expanded, dealing with questions from colleagues, producing guidance documentation in response to new legislation and assisting the head of the audit department with external file reviews as well as overseeing the introduction of new Circit software. As part of my role, I also lead audit forums with all audit staff and directors at the firm to give necessary updates, training and to provide a forum for discussion.

Assistant Manager
-
Jul 2015 - Jun 2017
I managed a portfolio of clients underneath one of the directors at the firm, dealing with a wide range of services and issues. I became the person responsible for audit and accounts technical matters on the management team. I led, and continue to lead, the technical meetings which are held with three of the firm’s directors to make decisions on firm policy and best practice before feeding back to the management and wider team. I oversaw the creation of a considerable bank of technical notes to address the significant changes in UK accounting standards and issues which that entailed, as well as standard wording to use in accounts. Part of my role was also to oversee the internal payroll testing procedures the firm has in place, having made changes to improve the process. I headed the research and then implementation of the complete change in regulatory reporting under new Solvency II rules.

Accounts and Audit Assistant / Senior
-
Jan 2011 - Jun 2015
In 2012, I passed my final ACA exam becoming a fully qualified member of the ICAEW in 2013. I successfully completed a three year leadership programme, developing my skills in supervising staff, strategic planning, client care and many other key areas. I was then able to put this into practice through the job managing of audit and accounts assignments. I developed my specialisms in the charity sector as well as regulatory reporting for insurance companies, particularly those in run off, leading on the technical research needed to keep up with regulatory developments and other changes. I took on responsibility for the firm’s various technical resource subscriptions including setting the annual budget and then subsequently approving invoices.
