Regional Agronomy Intern
-
mai. de 2016 - dez. de 2016
Through this position I worked under a regional agronomist for WinField United. My responsibilities included applying pesticide treatments, soil sampling, and tissue sampling in show blocks for six AnswerPlot locations across southern Minnesota. From late May to September I visited the plots weekly to conduct my work. When results of my sampling came in, I sorted and analyzed the data to understand how block treatments impacted the crop. I also helped conduct research in the AnswerPlots and spent time with my manager advising regional cooperative customers.

Agronomy Sales/Marketing Intern
-
mai. de 2015 - set. de 2015
Through this position I assisted in the sales of of seed, fertilizer, chemicals, and other farm inputs at Mid-County Cooperative. On a daily basis I implemented the skills and knowledge I have built through my class room experiences as well as my previous internship to communicate with local growers to assist them in their operations. As apart of this internship, I constructed a sales project on alfalfa treatment products and marketed these results to cooperative members. This position was my first experience in agronomy sales and this experience helped me further build my sales and communication skills.

For this position I worked for Mid-County Cooperative through Land O' Lakes Inc. as a crop scout intern. Through this position, I learned to apply my agronomy knowledge through my college experiences into a real world application. I reported back to my local agronomists on field conditions and helped make field recommendations based off of my observations. This was my introductory position within the industry and it helped me build my customer service skills as well as how to act as a professional within the industry.
