  I provide legal advice re procurement options having regard to the Public Contracts Regs 2015 and the Council's Contract Rules. Undertaking the design and drafting of complex and innovative commercial contracts, including tender documents, conditions of contract and specifications to re-engineer services and achieve substantial savings. Liaison with Procurement specialists to undertake EU procurements and to comply with all of the applicable rules and notice periods etc. Fighting off legal challenges to procurements and giving pragmatic legal advice in a friendly manner about contract development, making lawful contract modifications, negotiation of variations and providing contract interpretation. I have a friendly easy going style and this encourages officers that to return to me at regular intervals to get the support they need, without being judged and in the knowledge that the advise will be practical and understandable, rather than frosty and inaccessible or overly technical.
