  I started at the Kitts Green, Birmingham plant straight out of school as an apprentice back when it was still called Alcoa. After a 4 year apprenticeship and working in many different departments such as breakdowns and planned maintenance, I finished with a level 3 BTEC, a level 4 HNC and a level 3 NVQ, all based on industrial maintenance. Since completing my apprenticeship I have been in the instrumentation department looking after both gas and electric furnaces of different sizes, ensuring all the control circuits are working as they should and rectifying problems as they arise.
