Rob Hewson

Rian is a brilliant programmer who is able to analyse a problem and deliver a superior solution. A pleasure to work with as a designer.

John Reynolds

Rian is an invaluable member of the programming team. He has been involved in many of the core gaming systems and has done a superb job with each. He quickly understands new systems, whether they are 3rd party SDKs or internal code, and has been great at profiling and debugging. I'm writing this recommendation to acknowledge his great work in the Hydrophobia project.

Responsible for the development and maintenance of several of Hydrophobia's key systems including camera behaviour, control system, character control and the combat/cover system. As a founding developer of the InfiniteWorlds suite, Dark Energy's in-house engine, I specialised in camera system architecture, visibility determination and resource management. Significantly involved in optimisation, regularly analysing and modifying other team member's code. My responsibilities required me to be highly flexible and adaptive, providing rapid feature turnaround times for an agile-orientated design process. Show less

Originally hired as a junior programmer for the company's newly-founded mobile gaming operation, I was shortly transferred onto the console team to assist with the start-up of WSC '07. I thereon became an established member of the development team, played a significant role throughout the entirety of the project. My responsibilities included implementing new features as well as maintaining pre-existing features written by other team members. My understanding of the game code was extremely useful during testing, being one of the more proficient bug fixers across all target platforms. Show less

Provided front-line support on the Council's IT help desk. My main duties included responding to incoming calls to the help desk and providing at-desk resolutions to the Council's employees' IT-related issues. During this time self-scheduling and self-prioritising of tasks was essential, as well as exhibiting the ability to work and communicate as part of a team.
