I enjoyed working with Rhys. Although we come to politics from different angles I found him to be open to ideas and thoughts and thoroughly professional in his approach. To his credit he was always prepared to present opposing arguments. He was generous, good to work with and has a great sense of humour!

Project Coordinator
-
2014 - 2017
Project Coordinator for the Brentford Football Club Community Stadium Project Team. In December 2013 Brentford Football Club received planning permission to build a new 20,000-seat multi-purpose community stadium with corporate and commercial match day and non-match day facilities that will secure the long-term sustainability of the Club. The new Stadium will enable the award-winning Brentford FC Commmunity Sports Trust charity to expand and enhance their community activities and assist with the wider regeneration of the Brentford area. I worked closely with two Executive Directors on the delivery of the Brentford Community Stadium project, performing a wide range of project, office and financial management roles, and coordinating multiple work streams involving internal and external stakeholders to deliver project objectives. In March 2017 we successfully completed all the work required to satisfy the planning conditions, begin lawful commencement of works on site and preserve the planning permission granted in June 2014.

Co-authored a report on candidate selection processes in the three main UK political parties entitled, ‘Party People: How do –and how should – British Political Parties select their Parliamentary Candidates?’. The report, launched at an IfG event with guest speakers including Lord Andrew Adonis, Baroness Sal Brinton, Richard Angell from Progress and Sarah Wollaston MP, received widespread UK media coverage.I also co-authored a summary report outlining provisional conclusions for discussion at party conference fringe events, and wrote a blog for the IfG website on the Liberal Democrat Conference event. As well as co-writing the candidate selection report I was responsible for managing the project. This involved:Conducting research, producing academic literature reviews, briefing notes and data analysis.Arranging and conducting interviews with senior political figures, including MPs, from all three major political parties.Organising and chairing meetings of the cross-party Steering Group. At the meeting, attended by senior party figures and the Directors of four influential think tanks, I presented the initial findings and conclusions from my research. Working with CentreForum, Policy Exchange, IPPR and Progress think tanks to invite speakers and organise fringe events, held at Lib Dem, Labour and Conservative party conferences in 2011.I also provided research and organisational assistance on a report examining the performance of the Coalition Government in its first year entitled, ‘One Year On’.
