- VMware Administrator for the business, day to day administration and project delivery. - Microsoft Azure Administrator for the business, creating multiple different types of resource (APIM, B2C, Endpoints, VM's to name a few) as well as continuing to monitor all resources to ensure we are operating efficiently both operationally and cost effectively. - Mimecast administrator for the business, tasked with updating and ensuring all relevant policies within the system are created and configured correctly. Worked to vastly increase our health check score. - Deputised for the IT Operations & Infrastructure Manager on many occasions to drive through pieces of work and make crucial decisions for the business. - Lead and procure required IT equipment for the business as a whole. - Lead, inspired and guided junior & service delivery members of the team to help deliver the best results for our customers and colleagues. Acting as a senior escalation point on low level projects as well as high level service desk tickets as required. Recent Projects include; - Full implementation of Zerto into the business from start to finish. I have now picked up the role of SME, Lead and Administrator for this technology. - Recently solely lead and had a large impact on the build of our upcoming new PAM system. This included resourcing and building multiple Oracle Linux boxes (in co-ordination with VMware) and configuring them to ensure they are fit for purpose. - Managing and leading the charge on the companies Exchange 2013 decomission. - Leading on the creation of any WS2019 servers to hold services such as WSUS. Creating and then testing GPO's to ensure this works as required by the business. Reported directly to and worked very closely with the Head of Infrastructure. Worked on a whole host of technologies in both in Infrastructure and DevOps space. Managed and was solely responsible for the Windows Server full stack for the business, including implementation and architecting solutions involving DPM, Hyper V, Failover management, System Centre, Scripting tasks/automation (GitHub, Atom, Visual Studio Code), SQL Server Completed AWS Administration in which Aurora/DWS used a lot of services and using this as part of our solutions (DNS, Loadbalancers, IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) Used and became highly competent with Linux, Ubuntu, Debian. Managed a project to update these systems to later and more up to date OS Levels. As part of this I was also tasked and completed HP iLO backend maintenance and upgrades as well. Learnt and used various DevOps tools like Terraform & Terraform Cloud, Ansible. Created and amended high level infrastructure diagrams for the business as a whole as well as advising on required kit and peripherals. Reported directly to the Infrastructure Manager, maintained and much improved the IT Infrastructure behind the Capita ONE application which Flintshire County Council provide for 5 other councils across North Wales. This involved working with, VMWare, Veeam, Microsoft Server 2012, SQL and Citrix as well as more niche products like Oracle and AIX. As part of the role I led and been involved in multiple high level technical project’s, running at the same time. After transitioning from a Trainee to a Higher Level role I was a 1st Line Technician at Nviron. Whilst I worked as a 1st Line Techinician I learnt and developed my skills in the following areas; - ITIL - Call Managment- Incident Management - Problem Management - Change ManagementAfter working in this role for 4 months my technical knowledge was recognised and I was internally promoted to a 2nd Line Technician.
