Merthyr Saints First Team Manager
-
Jul 2019 - Oct 2021
First Team Manager at Merthyr Saints Football Club, who play in South Wales Alliance Premier Division. Using my B Licence qualification to work with senior players at 11 v 11 football, incorporating tactical insight in the best manner possible to players at a amateur football club - using experiences learnt from PGCE. Along side my ambitions to gain promotion for the first team, I took it upon myself to Rebrand and Structure the club from top to bottom. Since taking charge in 2019 I have attracted 5 new junior teams to the club and restructured the committee. As a club we are on track this season of gaining a Silver Accreditation from the FAW, first time in the clubs history.I have played a crucial role in securing over 150k worth of grants for the club, this has seen our facility being transformed to one of the best in South Wales.Reason For Leaving - Career progression with Pontypridd Town Football Club.

Schools Development Officer
-
Jan 2018 - Jul 2018
The post at Merthyr Football Community Trust involved contacting schools to run initiatives that FAW and other organisations would want to utilise for their young people and clients. My day to day tasks included meeting senior school teachers to establish links and negotiating times and dates of sessions. New initiatives and grants would become available where I would implement sessions and activities on a regular basis. Therefore, organisation and knowledge of the different schemes was important in order to promote them to the correct client base. Delivery of school sessions included 6-weeks of football sessions to the specific school. Further promoting other schemes at the Community Trust such as ‘Lidl Play More Football’. The objective of the scheme was to support 10 secondary age school pupils to become more confident and capable of organising and running a football session to primary school age pupils, through direction and support from myself. A large element of the job was to organise and run summer camps to create income for the football club. This involved planning and organising a football camp which was attended by over 100 children over a two-week period during the Summer of 2017. The link below, shows an interview that I did to promote and explain the role of the community trust within Merthyr and our summer camp intentions. https://twitter.com/FAWTrust/status/897819388199530496Reason for leaving - Full Time PGCE Course.
