I have the genuine privilege to work with a team of toxicologists, regulatory scientists and external scientific reviewers who work together to perform world class human health risk assessments of agrochemicals and veterinary drugs. I also act as a toxicological "problem solver" across the various regulatory functions and units of the APVMA as well as providing toxicological advice on agrochemicals and veterinary drugs to various departments of the Commonwealth Government of Australia. Senior Toxicologist

Jun 2014 - Jun 2018
As a Senior Toxicologist my work involved the non-clinical safety evaluation (ICH Module 4) of candidate new drug active registrations in Australia. Almost all of my work was focused upon large, complex ICH Module 4 dossiers, particularly in the anticancer and neurological drug categories. 2006 - 2013
In collaboration with several internationally orientated toxicology consultants I lead toxicological and human health risk assessments on a diverse array of projects in the areas of: forensic toxicology, petroleum distillates (hydrocarbon and halogenated solvents, petroleum distillation catalysts, metal contaminants (notably selenium, lead, mercury), veterinary clinical and diagnostic toxicology, EU REACh (including dossier development and working with SIEFs), GHS hazard classification and safety data sheet development, military toxicology, agrochemical toxicology, veterinary drug/chemical development and human pharmaceutical development. Most of these projects involved working electronically and acting as part of global self organizing (agile) teams. Show less

This was a traditional academic research teaching and service role. Over the course of this period of employment I published 19 fist author peer reviewed papers, developed a veterinary toxicology training course, provided veterinary clinical toxicology support for the veterinary clinical and diagnostic laboratory services at the university and was a member on various university committees. One of the highlights of this periods was being a NIH grant recipient. This was a traditional academic research teaching and service role. This position was a traditional research, teaching and service academic role. I transitioned from a post-doctoral researcher to a full academic role at the start of this position. My major role was teaching large animal anatomy; however I used this time to become trained in veterinary clinical and diagnostic toxicology. I was the recipient of a number of small research grants and had a successful period of publication during this time. This position was a traditional research, teaching and service academic role.
