McLean & Armstong is a boutique construction litigation firm in West Vancouver. During my time with McLean & Armstrong I worked on a great variety of construction related matters ranging from disputes over small residential renovation and restoration contracts to major road and power line construction contracts. I did a great deal of work with Builders Liens, disputes relating to construction tendering, delay and deficiencies claims, and other construction related matters. I started my decade at Bull Housser as a member of the firm´s Health Care Law department, working primarily for health care related clients, such as health authorities, hospitals, health professions colleges, and various health care facilities. My practice included a variety of litigation matters, including medical malpractice defence, contract disputes and human rights matters. In addition to litigation matters I advised clients on a great variety of risk management issues. Later I joined the firm´s tobacco litigation team, representing the government of British Columbia in its health care costs litigation against the tobacco industry. As a member of the tobacco team I was involved in a great variety of tasks and projects ranging from plaintiff´s document production, extensive legal research, drafting of arguments for various court proceedings and applications and preparation of the plaintiff´s case in chief. Throughout my time at Bull Housser I worked extensively on information and privacy matters for a variety of public bodies and from time to time for third parties. This included processing and managing the response to contentious information requests, advising public bodies on procedure and disclosure obligations, and representing public bodies in a number of inquiries before the Information and Privacy Commissioner.
