During the summer before my Sophomore year of college, a good friend and I, who had been performing in/spending time in coffee shops for years, decided to open one ourselves. We renovated the building, opened the business, booked dozens of nationally-touring bands, released a compilation of our favorite local musicians, and helped to create a community of like-minded people on the far East Side of Cleveland. We sold the business after about one year, (it still exists today under a different format) and went back to focusing on school with the intention of venturing again in the future. In 2007 we officially launched Cellar Door Records together in Cleveland, OH. Show less
