All in compliance with the corresponding entities such as EEOC, FMLA, Labor Code, COBRA, HIPPAA, OSHA, etc. • Monitored the correct application of Safety Webinars at hazardous areas like airports and maintenance to maintain claims at the lowest possible rate which resulted in lower WC premiums. • Coordinated and facilitated information for the 401K and Pension plan external audits that were necessary in the preparation of the yearly 5500 filings. • Assisted the HR Director in the investigation, documentation and preparation of responses to complaints and law suits. • Became a member of the closing team when the Company filed for Bankruptcy protection under Chapter 15 and ultimately declared bankruptcy. I was instrumental in the mass layoffs, office closures, administration, negotiations and adjustment of benefits during the crisis that persisted for four years. At the end I became directly responsible for the termination of the 401K and the Pension Plan, the closure of the Human Resources office and its inventory. I coordinated with the PBGC the final audit and successful changeover of the Pension Plan to this government entity. • Acted on behalf of the HR Director during her absences, traveling or vacation and ultimately upon her retirement from the Company during the last year of the company’s crisis.
