During my last semester of nursing school, I completed 144 hours of clinical experience in the Mother-Infant Unit at Sunrise Children's Hospital for my preceptorship. I developed critical thinking via observations, demonstration, and dialogue related to both clinical situations and leadership/management while working in a consistent one-on-one relationship with an experienced nurse. During the experience, I increased my independence in decision-making, organizational skills, and psychomotor skills and developed confidence in the accomplishment of the workload expected of a graduate nurse.
