At Atia Vision, Rex creates the machined implants, a critical and irreplaceable role in the company. What impresses me most about Rex is his ability to gain an understanding of complex programming and machining on freshly-introduced equipment. IOL lens machining is not something you learn in college and he took risk in accepting the position at Atia. The equipment and programming language of the devices is antiquated and far from intuitive, but he accepted the challenge and proved his competence. He was responsible for receiving add-on systems and tools to upgrade the current cutting systems and in most cases had to make custom alterations to get proper functionality. Cryonic machining of various materials requires adaptations of many parameters, and on a startup timeline, often at the same time. His willingness to put in long hours and his efficiency (apt-intuition) kept parts flowing for R&D. He replaced a seasoned professional who left the company and proved a professional maturity beyond his years. Atia Vision is incredibly lucky to have Rex on the team and I genuinely recommend him!
