Selecting the pieces to translate a subjective view of a world that has been filled with passion since day one. The deeper the ride, the sexier the vibe. Open up the Mic™ is the evolution of a collaboration that RescuePoetix™ founded in Jersey City NJ in 2009 that pulled together the sounds and voices of Jersey City. The radio show will take on a global/world music feel and put together the various elements that bring music and poetry into a flow that weaves itself through our every day lives. Each show will delve into various forms of poetic rhythms with and without music. Poetry from all over the world, in a variety of languages will fill the airwaves and lead you on a journey of discovery designed to uplift the spirit. This celebration of the written and spoken word is in it 2nd years and scheduled to take place during National Poetry Month. The Jersey City Poetry Festival is a city wide event with a variety of scheduled readings, performances, open mic, workshops and panels. The focus of the Jersey City Poetry Festival is to bring attention to the thriving Arts community in Jersey City, and New Jersey. The fundamentals of Literary Arts are part of educational, social and developmental aspects of our society.
