  Europa Cantat 2009 was a huge singers festival which is since 1961 every three years in a European city. In july 2009 2700 participants from 42 countries came for 10 days to Utrecht to join more than 50 ateliers, nearly 100 concerts and other events. The staff coordinator (or personnel manager) recruited the more than 220 volunteer workers for the festival, get them committed to the festival during the preparation period and coached them in cooperation with the staff of the staff office.
