Special Education Case Manager/Teacher
-
Aug 2005 - Present
As a Special Education Case Manager, I am accountable for any new student referrals. I conduct and report on standardized academic evaluations and work with a, psychologist, occupational therapist, and speech and language pathologist to determine if a student has a educational disability, or not. Once there is a determination of an educational disability it is my job to develop, and oversee the implementation of a individualized education plan, (IEP). My current position has me case managing for students with special needs in grades Kindergarten through 2nd. I supervise 7-9 paraprofessionals who work one-on-one with identified students. I am responsible for planning the modified curriculum sequencing and instruction in a manner that best meets the individual needs of each student. My position within this district also requires that I supervise a tier two intervention reading program as well as collect, analyze and report on student progress data. Show less
