Seasoned event planner with a strong background in catering, staffing, logistics and operations. Responsible for planning and executing hospitality services for New York City special events from 20-1000 guests. Essential roles: • Network with prospective clients, venues, and vendors – developing strategic relationships • Field high volume client inquiries, create high-end catering & beverage menus, event proposals; negotiate contracts • Obtain permits and event insurance in compliance with venue requirements • Procure all catering and event deliverables, outsourcing to vendors as needed • Recruit and direct teams of up to 40 (FOH/BOH) independent contractors • Plan meticulous event production/logistics schedules with contingency plans • Full on-site event management, liaising between clients, venue managers, and staff • Manage budgeting, invoicing and payroll Operating a catering and events business involves hiring staff and outside vendors, which I find personally rewarding by contributing to my local community and economy.
