Rene was an absolute pleasure to work with at Randstad. I had the opportunity to manage him when he was a Staffing Consultant at Randstad in Hayward and I think his personality fits well into what many organizations are looking for: a good natured individual who has a lot of industry experience, as well a person you look forward to working next to on a daily basis. And that last part I think bears some repeating: He was a person you looked forward to working next to on a daily basis. I repeat that because all too often it's easy to focus on a candidates hard skills and not on how they fit in with the team and strengthen the office dynamic. When talking about hard skills, Rene had plenty. Whether it was hitting his recruiting targets, getting feedback on candidates placed at job sites or communicating with Clients about projecting staffing needs during busy periods, he always did it well and with a smile. One of the other main reasons he was a pleasure to manage was that he was coachable. He wasn't afraid to take some constructive criticism or to take accountability for his business unit if things were a little off pace. He seemed to always be in good spirits and whenever there were problems he tended to look at them as challenges and wanted to work with the team to overcome them. If I was hiring and building a company from scratch I would want Rene or a "Rene type individual" for the team because it's amazing what can get accomplished when you are working with someone that you genuinely enjoy working with and value the input they bring to the team.
