Bio
Pillai Goonaseelan (Colin)
Dr Renata Lazarova was the communications coach for the 2015 Next Generation Scientist (NGS) program. The NGS program is a 3-month on-site research internship jointly run by Novartis and the University of Basel for scientists/clinicians from low and middle income countries. Renata was responsible for providing didactic sessions and practical skills training on verbal and written communication. Objective evidence of the outcome of these efforts can be seen in the highlight video (https://youtu.be/_u9c6yzgIxI) as well as in the scientific posters that each intern produces at the end of their internship (ddut.ch/ngs-science-day). As Renata herself would highlight, these achievements are a team effort - not least of which is the energy, dedication and motivation of the young NGS scientists that she worked with. Colin Pillai
Dr. Nina B. Latham
Renata worked on an assignment for me between October 2014 and January 2015 to manage three Global Medical Affairs projects at Novartis Vaccines and Diagnostics AG focusing on scientific product training of internal as well as external health care professionals. In this capacity she oversaw the work of medical agencies and liaised with Global Medical Information and Global Medical Affairs Directors, key user countries and other internal stakeholders to ensure the learning effectiveness and scientific accuracy, as well as efficient process and project delivery with respect to quality, time and budget. Renata has been a true asset to the Global Medical Affairs Team and worked fully independently and highly committed, effectively managing the collaborations, addressing the challenges and completing the projects to my full satisfaction.
