As a media editor I work closely with clients from newspapers, commercial content agencies and national broadcasters. My work is grounded in reviewing and editing features published in Asia, and requires tracking and coordinating a variety of topics and deliverables. Additionally, I also create shareable content through blog and article writing requiring in-depth knowledge of diverse target audiences.

International Correspondent and Bureau Chief
-
2008 - 2017
As lead correspondent for China and surrounding countries, I generated new business by leading the Netherlands Press Association (NPA/GPD) bureau from Shanghai (seven time zones away from headquarters in The Hague) and producing reporting on topical news - specializing in long-form, live on-air reporting, and human interest stories. Running parallel to this I managed operational aspects such as budget, editorial team through assignment delegation, and monitoring the bureau’s adherence to licensing rules. Clients of mine other than NPA/GPD included RTL Television, Knack, Humo, OneWorld, Content Collision, and Elsevier. The following are highlights of the value I’ve brought my clients: ►Grew the output of the NPA/GPD China and Asia news features by twofold, including responsibility for large projects such as non-sports reporting on 2008 Beijing Olympics and hit-the-ground-running reporting from areas struck by big natural disasters and severe civil unrest.►Through consistent publishing and broadcasting delivery, I gained ten new clients including Elsevier, Dutch national broadcaster NTR, Amnesty International, and the Royal Netherlands Academy of Sciences. -
2005 - 2007
At the Netherlands Press Association (NPA/GPD), I specialized in reporting on metropolitan and national health care issues, as well as reporting on the military, by researching and tracking industry developments, and round-the-clock reporting. The following are highlights of the value I’ve brought to the company: ►Established NPA’s first operation in Rotterdam which significantly increased exposure of city. ►Was able to identify and publish on fine print details in the Netherlands Ministry of Defense’s budget documents and consequently prevented the Netherlands' head of state from maintaining a personal yacht with taxpayer money.
