Conduct inspections of commercial, industrial, public, and other buildings for compliance with and enforcement of fire codes, ordinances, and laws. I educate businesses and residents on the importance of Fire safety. This includes conducting job safety training to all new employees during monthly orientation for new employees to help reduce on the job related accidents. Like all JIA employees I wear different hats. As the Flood Plain manager for Jekyll I'm in charge of making sure all flood prevention requirements are documented for FEMA standards to help our Flood ISO (Insurance Rating Organization) rating to be the best it can to keep flood insurance rates as low as possible. If needed I'm also a certified Fire Fighter and first responder. I have my Fire Inspector I, II, and III certifications as well.
