Responsible for the design, development, integration and support of software and hardware layers for custom test and production line machines. Required modular LabVIEW code using advanced scalable architectures (loosely cohesive, object oriented programming). • A droplet visualisation system; custom high power stroboscopic LED over-driver (double switched). • Custom ASIC and FPGA integrated test systems. • A LabVIEW retrofit of an electron microscope. • A production line optical inspection machine (IMAQ, vision builder, SQL toolkit). • A production line part assembly machine (IMAQ, PLC linear motor and pneumatic system control).

One year contract. Responsible for thermo-hydraulic support and testing for both HiFAR and OPAL reactors (under construction at the time). Responsible for the design and construction of a large water tunnel modification which was used to verify computational and theoretical models predicting helium entrainment through free surface vorticity. Acquired experience with most common manufacturing equipment and tooling (mills, lathes, etc.) and produced CAD drawings for third party manufacture. One year contract.
