In my very short time at Mudano I've worked on creating infographics and data visualisation for presentation slides that I designed according to brand guidelines. Making them dynamic, work to the style and fit for purpose was key. I've also worked on troubleshooting and workshopping a training tool, which will become more intuitive and change platforms under my supervision. Working under the Lloyds Banking Group brand style has been fundamental to my work. I've worked on titles across Music Sales Group's family of publishing companies including Omnibus Press, Wise Publications, Leduc and Novello. I've created artwork for musical biographies, instrument teaching books, sticker sheets and conducted a lot of picture research so far in my time at Music Sales. I've worked to tight deadlines as well as long ones, created books from scratch as well as editing and pre-producing archived ones being reprinted. My shortest deadline was 2 days, it was a challenge but I completed it in good time! Show less

  • Gentleman's Journal
    • London, United Kingdom
    • Freelance Designer
      • Nov 2017 - Dec 2017

I learned a little bit about art direction at my short time at Gentleman's Journal from the art editor both directly and indirectly, as well as how a magazine functions and keeps itself sustained. I worked on creating proposals to gain advertising revenue; conducted picture research for the magazine and website; and did a lot of photo editing and tweaking to make everything work for the GJ style. I also applied my skills to digital projects for the GJ website, mobile site and on multiple Instagram projects. Alongside those briefs I worked on print projects including the bi-monthly magazine, laying out pages, making tweaks and contributing directional ideas. Being able to work collaboratively and bounce ideas with the great team at Gentleman's Journal was brilliant and helped achieve the fast and tight deadlines more smoothly. Show less

I've worked on a range of titles for DK that have headlined the publishing list for the upcoming year — from gardening, to exercise, recipes and more. I've often been entrusted to complete the harder tasks as a design assistant and have gone beyond my role to meet deadlines to my own high standards as well as DK's. I've learned so much from excellent seniors and managing designers (and the company as a whole) on design, as well as liaising with international teams to meet strict deadlines. I worked as a junior designer on a placement for the award-winning branding agency Structure for a month, assisting on a number of projects. I helped develop an identity redesign for Cunningham Lindsey — a business management consultant; flyers and posters for upcoming Westminster Abbey talks and events; and headed a project for Telecity, creating a dynamic pop-out flyer for their new data centre in Amsterdam. I learned a lot in my short time on communicating with clients and working firsthand with printers to create special runs in time for deadlines. Show less
