My current research is focused on the development and synthesis of novel dye molecules and their integration in dye sensitized solar cells (DSCs) for indoor and outdoor applications. A second part of my current work also include functional coordination complex materials, in particular synthesis, characterization and device integration of coordination complexes as redox mediator, hole transport materials and dopants in DSCs and perovskite based solar cells. worked as a principal investigator where I was responsible for planning and carrying out my own independent research on coordination chemistry and bio-inspired oxidation catalysis. Involved in the development, synthesis and characterization of functional and structural models of biological metalloenzymes. Management of all the funds related to the project which included the purchase of any major equipment and all other consumable items and other related chemicals, keeping/maintaining a record of all the funds and payments from the said project. My other roles included supervision of PhD. and Master students in the lab. Show less

My previous research was focused in the field of synthetic organic and bio-inorganic chemistry with special emphasis on iron, manganese, oxygen and catalysis/bio-catalysis. A major part of the research was directed towards activation of dioxygen by non-heme iron enzymes and models, trapping and characterizing reaction intermediates and development of bio-inspired oxidation catalysts. Other projects included the study of the role of secondary coordination sphere on the reactivity of biomimetic metal-oxygen oxidants. Since hydrogen bonds are known to influence the second coordination sphere around metal ions in many biological proteins, my role was to develop small synthetic models that would mimic these protein architectures with respect to their structure and function. Mechanistic investigation using theoretical calculations. My further responsibilities included supervision of doctorate and master students in lab Show less
