The Sultan Center is a chain of Retail & Fashion Stores across Kuwait, Jordan, Lebanon & Oman. In the Traffic Dept., we were responsible for getting quotations from different freight forwarders, analyzing their rates & benefits, (free days, Credit Terms). We were handling all import shipments coming to TSC whether Home Center Goods/Disney Items/Food Products/Engineering construction supplies/Stores Remodeling supplies/Restaurant Trading supplies/ Fashion Supplies (Mavi/Tom Tailor/NAFNAF) Sports Goods Nike/Adidas. We were responsible for clearing the shipment with our Customs Broker, communicating any documentation issues with our Freight Forwarders (Agility, DHL, Expeditors, etc.) Preparing any special releases required for all ranges of products. We were also updating shipments in an Oracle system and maintaining reports from our system to ensure smooth flow of clearance operation. As a step to have better visibility and control over our shipments, we started consolidating shipments in USA & France. We worked closely with our consolidators to ensure optimum containers' stuffing, booking, and shipping. We were also handling export shipments from Kuwait to our stores in Oman, and Jordan, and random shipments to Iraq and Lebanon including preparing export Bayan and custom clearance formalities for import and export. We were working as a team, with 3 other assistants who handled the workload under my supervision. We contact suppliers in origins, freight forwarders, shipping lines to maintain a smooth flow of operation and efficient clearance process. We also review L/C requirements with our Finance Dept. to ensure all L/C conditions are met for clearing the shipments smoothly.
