Work included a large variety of tasks and projects including: Spring and Fall Vegetation Surveys over an area of 40,000 acres and then using that data to create a report explaining the state of the land in terms of wildlife and cattle, making grazing recommendations, wildlife surveys, especially of Bobwhite and Blue Quail, Radio Telemetry tracking of collared quail, capture of quail chicks, ATV maintenance and repairs, tractor operation for shredding, plowing, and planting, grubbing of mesquites using skid steers and excavators, habitat evaluation for wildlife and cattle, hospitality services to hunters, cooking, scouting for deer, demolition, and caring for dogs. I worked an average of 50+ hours a week.
